Volunteers
Join us in the fun! A day as a volunteer at the North Bay Science Discovery Day will be one you will never forget. The day is a spectacular splash of energy and excitement. Kids everywhere are happy and seriously engaged in activities that are intended to get them excited about STEM.
General Volunteers (only adults; or 10+ age with an adult)
We welcome adults to volunteer. (Child aged 10+ are welcome to volunteer with an adult).
Volunteer shifts are from 1.25 to 3 hours, with available shifts starting at 7am and ending at 6 pm.
Volunteers are super helpful and friendly to everyone!
Volunteers wear a white lab coat (provided)
Volunteers are expected to be a resource for attendees, so it is helpful to read the program and acquaint yourself with the exhibit and bathroom locations
Any volunteer wearing a lab coat who happens to speak Spanish is invited to wear a special orange sash that says "se habla español."
Exhibitor Assistants - high school or college students
Exhibitor Assistants help with interactive activities. 6.5 hr. shifts. For the best selection of exhibitors, sign up between Jan. 15 and Feb. 15.
Set-up and clean-up assistants have 2 hr. shifts: 8:00-10:00 a.m. or 4:00-6:00 p.m.
Shifts vary from 2 to 6 ½ hours.
Act as an exhibitor assistant, helping offer an interactive science activity.
Receive community service hours.
